What is Sermorelin?
Sermorelin is a synthetic peptide that mimics the first 29 amino acids of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It stimulates the pituitary gland to produce and release growth hormone (GH) in a pulsatile, natural manner, similar to the body’s endogenous process. Unlike direct GH therapy, Sermorelin promotes the body’s own GH production, reducing the risk of side effects associated with exogenous GH. It has a short half-life (approximately 10-20 minutes) and is typically administered via subcutaneous injection, often at bedtime to align with natural GH pulses.
